Katy Kellett

Katy provides technology expertise and scientific direction to incoming genomic startups in Cambridge, UK. Prior to joining Illumina Ventures in 2024, she worked as a scientist at PacBio in San Diego on short read SBB Chemistry. Before that, she worked at Illumina UK with the SBS Chemistry team on novel nucleotide design and synthesis.

Katy earned her PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Hertfordshire and completed her postdoctoral work at the University of California, San Diego working on supramolecular chemistry for physical property data collection for application to forcefield development for drug discovery.
