Ivan Coulter, Ph.D.

Ivan is an innovator and entrepreneur with extensive experience in translating early-stage innovations into clinical development programs. As a pharmacologist, Ivan has an appreciation of and insights into the importance of aligning molecular pathways with appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics.

He was the founder of Sigmoid Pharma and the lead inventor of its advanced drug delivery technology and GI-focused applications, including target IBD therapeutics and oral vaccines. During his tenure as CEO, Sigmoid raised over €90M in equity and executed co-development licensing agreements with specialty GI companies. As a consultant, Ivan has advised academics and entrepreneurs in setting up companies, developing fundable strategies and building multidisciplinary teams.

Ivan holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacology and a P.hD. in Cancer Research from University College Dublin, was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institut Curie, Paris, and an M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
