Yogesh Kamra

Yogesh provides operational and scientific support to startups at Illumina Ventures Labs UK, ensuring that Illumina Ventures Labs companies can focus on advancing their technologies in a reliable and well-supported environment. Drawing on over 14 years of experience in molecular biology and genomics, Yogesh works closely with startup teams to implement scalable workflows and maintain high performing lab operations.

Before joining Illumina Ventures Labs in 2025, Yogesh was a Senior Scientist at BenevolentAI, where he developed automated RNA sequencing workflows in support of AI-driven drug discovery programs. He previously held scientific roles at Quell Therapeutics, NHS Genomics Core and King’s College London, contributing to assay development, biomarker discovery and immune monitoring across translational and clinical research programs. Throughout his career, Yogesh has authored 13 peer-reviewed publications including some in Nature Communications and Journal of Experimental Medicine highlighting his research in immunology, genomics and transplant biology.
